About me

Siobhan McKenna is a young and ambitious journalist from Melbourne, Australia. Currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Journalism at RMIT University, with a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Environments also from RMIT. This site was created to share her portfolio of works. Siobhan believes in honest, factual and meaningful reporting and applies this mentality to every story.

Siobhan has a background in social sciences, local government, policy development and marketing. Having dabbled in public relations, social media marketing, lobbying, event management and campaigning in the not-for-profit sector.

Her experience in journalism began as a volunteer at SYN 90.5, a local student run radio station as a reporter/producer/presenter on current affairs program Panorama.  She went on to become a newsreader on their flagship morning show Get Cereal, curating hourly news bulletins and presenting live to air.

Siobhan has a particular interest for local reporting, currently contributing to online news publication willyandhobby. She would love to continue her work sharing stories that matter to the local community, and hopes to take her experience around regional Australia and beyond.
